118 trades launches 'in house' design studio to improve customer service

Fast growing 118 trades, the directory offering of 118 Group has created an 'in house' design team to speed up service

[UKPRwire, Sat Sep 16 2006] 118 trades, the UK’s fast growing directory service is developing an ‘in-house’ graphic design team to allow faster turn-a-round of the web banner division.

Speaking about the expansion, founder and CEO Daniel Corby said “118 trades are creating an in-house banner design team to create and design web banners. The 118 trades design team will now create and design web banners within 10 minutes of the customer signing up and agreeing to purchase, giving us the fastest turn-a-round in the directory business in the UK and possibly globally. The banner team sell web banners to a wide range of UK companies, including egg, Mercedes Benz, orange mobile phones and smaller businesses who wish to maximise their exposure and marketing. Web banners dominate a page or category and we’re delighted to be able to offer such a fast turn-a-round. Our banner sales team target customers from the blue chips to the small one man band type businesses”

118 trades are the UK’s fastest growing directory business and cover 70% of the UK with around 50,000 customers. The banner design team is based in Essex and operates on state of the art Apple Mac design studio.

118 Group, the parent company now operates 118 trades, 118 gethitched, Fido Local, Car Auto, and 118 Telecoms and in quarter 1 of 2007 will launch 118 mobile.

The business has just completed a successful round of pre IPO funding and plans an AIM float which could happen as early as 2007 / 2008.

The board has recently grown and now includes Richard Allan, non executive chairman, Hugh Craen as non executive director and Bradley Chapman as Commercial Director alongside Jaynie Vincent, Group HR director and Daniel Corby as MD.

The business is preparing to open one of the largest call centres in Essex in late September, with the creation of around 400 jobs at Chelmsford, Essex. The Chelmsford offices will operate alongside the existing Chelmsford, Harlow and Asian offices of the group.
