Charities To Generate Thousands Via Mobile Internet Gift Aid
Charities are now able to generate £1000’s per year with mobile marketing agency Incentivated’s revolutionary Mobile Internet Gift Aid.
[UKPRwire, Fri Jun 30 2006] Charities are now able to generate £1000’s per year with mobile marketing agency Incentivated’s revolutionary Mobile Internet Gift Aid.
Text donations are just one of many ways the Third Sector can employ mobile marketing to its benefit, and Incentivated has made a major breakthrough in the way charities can claw back some of the money the mobile phone network operators charge for handling each donation.
Jonathan Bass, managing director at Incentivated, said: “Of a £3.00 donation texted through rivals www.justgiving.com, the charity gets £1.75 + VAT, from one particular network. Incentivated offers up to five pence more - £1.80 + VAT - a difference in revenue share which can add up to thousands of pounds.
“Also, crucially, Incentivated enables Gift Aid to be reclaimed (28% on £3.00, equating to £0.84), giving a maximum potential of £2.95 to the charities, 43% better than Just Giving. I estimate over a year, this difference could be worth at least £10,000 for each charity involved assuming they promote the service. When Mobile Internet Gift Aid for the Third Sector really takes off, it could be worth £500,000, a huge amount of extra revenue across the industry.”
Incentivated has launched the inaugural Gift Aid campaign, for Macmillan.
A call to action campaign has launched in national newspapers, on television and posters. With details from the adverts, donors text SUPPORT, NURSE, HELP or MACMILLAN to premium rate number 85222, which deducts £3 from the donor’s mobile. Then donors are sent a WAP push message inviting them to fill out the Macmillan branded mobile internet Gift Aid form. By confirming they are tax payers, Macmillan can claim an extra 28% from HM Revenue & Customs.

Text is ideal for this. It ties in well with our new brand which is very open, accessible and all inclusive. Offering text-to-donate and Gift Aid via WAP will help us connect with more donors and will hopefully play an increasing part in our fundraising efforts.”
