Communications Leader Appointed For West Yorkshire's Next Five-year Transport Plan
Metro has appointed Helen Standing as Communications Leader for the preparation of the third West Yorkshire Local Transport Plan (WYLTP3).
[UKPRwire, Sat Oct 17 2009] Metro has appointed Helen Standing as Communications Leader for the preparation of the third West Yorkshire Local Transport Plan (WYLTP3).
WYLTP3 will outline plans and programmes for improving transport services and infrastructure beyond 2011 and Metro is responsible for its production. The Plan will support wide-ranging policy objectives encompassing climate change, supporting economic growth, improving safety, health, accessibility and quality of life for residents.
During the preparation of the WYLTP3 there will be a strong emphasis on engagement with Metro's partners that are responsible for providing transportation services and facilities, as well as those organisations such as Primary Care Trusts and Environmental Bodies involved in delivering wider policy objectives . There will also be consultation with local residents.
Helen will be responsible for driving this community and stakeholder involvement and input into the development and implementation of the plan.
Helen joins Metro from the Leeds office of pan-European public relations consultancy, Trimedia (www.trimediauk.com), where she worked on national and regional communications campaigns most of which were for the public sector.
Helen was also previously Communications Manager for a knowledge transfer organisation managed by the University of Leeds. With an accredited MA, Helen is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and part of its Local Public Services group.
