Lakeland – St. Petersburg Experience-The new goSaimaa.fi Cruise
South Karelian Tourism Ltd has joined forces with Lakeland Lines Oy Ab and Roll Cruises to offer travelers a new cruise, Lakeland – St. Petersburg Experience.
[UKPRwire, Thu Jan 24 2008] The cruise will be available for bookings this summer. goSaimaa.fi holds all rights to sales and the product has so far been very successful amongst the international travel organisers.
Lakeland – St. Petersburg Experience is a roundtrip. A train journey from Helsinki to Kuopio will be followed by a cruise on m/s BlueWhite Eagle. The two day cruise takes you to Lappeenranta via Savonlinna. The next day the m/s Carelia cruise ship will take the travelers to Viipuri along the Saimaa canal and the journey will continue by bus. After two nights in St Petersburg, the journey back home will be taken by train. Optionally, the whole trip can be done in the reverse order and it is possible to travel shorter distances, for example from Savonlinna to Lappeenranta.
goSaimaa.fi portal is continously developing
The great variety of travel offerings around Southern Saimaa are brought together on goSaimaa.fi. During the Nordic Travel Fair, the online store will be added on site and will include various products and travel packages. The first package added on to the system will be Lakeland – St.Petersburg Experience cruise and bookings for private customers will be available from February 2008 onwards. Until then the international travel organisers will do quota bookings.
The online store will play an important role in Southern Carelia because it enables easy management for the interesting yet widely spread travel offerings in the area. Especially small travel companies such as rental cottages benefit greatly, and can be marketed abroad with the help of the online store.
