Simplicity group launch world’s first pixel recruitment site

Aaron Pacitti, a managing director of the Simplicity group, said: “We are taking Alex’s inspiration but we want to build on his success and make it more specific and more useful. We have also included a forum where people can discuss all aspects of their working lives.”

[UKPRwire, Mon Feb 06 2006] The simplicity group are poised to launch the world’s first pixel advertising site designed exclusively for jobs and recruitment.

The site, has taken its inspiration from the famous milliondollarhomepage launched in August of 2005 by Alex Tew who filled his entire site within four months, making a million dollars in the process.

Aaron Pacitti, a managing director of the Simplicity group, said: “We are taking Alex’s inspiration but we want to build on his success and make it more specific and more useful. We have also included a forum where people can discuss all aspects of their working lives.”

The basic idea behind any pixel site is to sell each pixel (the tiny dots that make up the representation of an image in a computer’s memory) as advertising space. The simplicity site will sell each pixel for $1 on the world site and £1 on the UK sister site. The minimum purchase will be 10 x 10 pixels, meaning that for as little as £100 an employer can have a front page advertisement on a high traffic website.

Pacitti says: “When you consider that some sites charge up to £250 to advertise one job for one week we are offering outstanding value for money. We only charge the advertiser once and give them a link to their own site where they can advertise thousands of jobs through us for a single one-off payment.”

The site is guaranteed to be kept live for a minimum of five years and once an advertisement is placed on the site it will stay on forever. This means that the sooner people buy space on the site, the more value for money they will receive as there is no need to renew an advertisement and no one else can use the space once it has been bought.

Alex Tew’s milliondollarhomepage may have spawned numerous other copycat sites but Pacitti is keen to point out that as the first jobs only pixel site, jobsbypixel is very different. “The majority of sites you come across are part time ventures run by
students or individuals looking to make some extra cash. We on the other hand are a business looking to provide a service. We intend to invest a large amount of money, time and effort into making this the most successful way of advertising your vacancies on the internet.”
