WAR to help raise awareness of Addenbrooke's charity
The Fund & Friends of Addenbrooke’s (FFA), the charity for Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, has briefed leading communications agency, Ware Anthony Rust (WAR) to provide marketing support and consultancy to its in-house team.
[UKPRwire, Wed Jun 14 2006] The Fund & Friends of Addenbrooke’s (FFA), the charity for Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, has briefed leading communications agency, Ware Anthony Rust (WAR) to provide marketing support and consultancy to its in-house team.
In 2005, FFA and Addenbrooke’s Charities merged to become one fundraising unit. WAR is working to refresh the charity’s current identity to help create a single voice for branding and communications. The aim is to develop a cohesive and distinctive brand which will represent FFA’s core vision and help it engage more effectively with its audience.
WAR will also provide PR and communications support to FFA’s in-house team to help raise awareness of its fundraising activities in the national press.
FFA is an independent registered charity which works to raise additional money to benefit patients attending Addenbrooke's Hospital. To date FFA has raised over £9 million to supplement departments including Children’s Services, Oncology, The Cambridge Breast Unit (CBU), Neurosciences Critical Care Unit (NCCU) and The Cambridge Oesophago-Gastric Centre (CUGI).
Caroline Lane, Director of Fundraising at FFA said: “At present, unless people have had direct contact with the Hospital, Addenbrooke’s is largely regarded as a local hospital offering support to residents in Cambridgeshire. In fact we are a centre of excellence providing healthcare for regional and national patients. In addition there is considerable internationally recognised research undertaken on the campus. To reflect this and help raise further awareness of our fundraising activities, we need a clear and consistent message to run through all our communications. WAR is the perfect agency to help us achieve this. We look forward to working with the team to develop a new identity and extend our PR communications to a much wider audience.”
Lulu Winter, Head of WAR Healthcare said: “It’s great to be working with a charity of the calibre of FFA. By developing a fresh and exciting new identity and offering national PR support, we hope to build further awareness of what is a very worthy cause.”
Working closely with a number of big brand accounts, WAR offers seamless campaigns to include the core disciplines of advertising, interactive, public relations, design and direct marketing.
