Website boosts Staffordshire’s inward investment drive

Website proves a major draw for inward investor

[UKPRwire, Sun Aug 19 2007] The power of the internet is set to play an even greater role in the inward investment fortunes of Staffordshire after the re-launch of www.instaffs.co.uk attracted a record number of visitors.

Since the new–look website went live in July, there have been more than 350 clients who have searched for new premises across the area. Currently 75% of inStaffs’ enquiries for properties and related information now come through the electronic super highway.

This is a major rise in previous years and highlights the changing nature of the marketplace, not to mention reinforcing the development agency’s desire to be at the forefront of technology.

John de Kanter, Chief Executive of InStaffs, explained:

“The Internet is a very powerful tool in promoting Staffordshire to people all over the world and this is something we’ve tried to build on.”

He continued: “The revamp has basically added a new look and feel to the site, with the modern design making it easier and quicker for people to navigate the site.

“In terms of what is on there? Well you’ve got everything a potential developer or company relocating would need to know, such as in-depth information on every area of the County, the latest news and publications and assistance with financial incentives. It is also home to the agency’s interactive ‘Property Search’ database.”

The latter, which was the first system of its kind when it launched in 1999, allows companies to input their exact requirements and this is then matched to over 1000 options, ranging from starter units and offices to ‘mega’ sheds and sites. In fact, since 1999, over 9,000 clients have registered to use the property search facility.

The property database is continuously monitored to maintain its currency and over 70 new entries are regularly added throughout each month making it an incredibly up to date and comprehensive resource.

John continued: “The property database is an extremely useful tool, whether it is being used by a start up company needing office space or a major conglomerate wishing to relocate or expand their business.

“We are always very keen to hear from partners, companies and potential investors on how we can make the website even better so that the area can make the most of one of the biggest regeneration drives in its history.”

InStaffs has been one of the leading innovators when it comes to using technology in promoting inward investment opportunities.

Since its launch in 1997, it has embraced the ‘digi-card’, produced a DVD of the opportunities in North Staffordshire and has been instrumental in the creation of a giant 3D model of Stoke-on-Trent City Centre.

It also issues a bi-monthly e-bulletin called ‘In Touch Electronic’ to more than 1,500 business people across the UK and the world.
