The launch of a unique call management platform to be rolled out to businesses from March

118 Group, which runs and operates brands including directory service, 118 trades, telecoms reseller, 118 telecoms, wedding portal, 118 gethitched and other media businesses including 118 New Media, Fido Local and Tastyphones is gearing up for the most aggressive phase of its expansion and growth yet.

The group was founded in 2005 by Daniel Corby, former Sales Director at mobile retailer Phones 4U and Retail Director of The Tanning Shop and the group has flourished and has become one of the regions largest employers.

Commenting on the growth, Daniel Corby said “We have recently conducted a full scale business review of the group’s activities and are planning to tripple our size over the coming 12 months. The growth will come from 118 trades, our core business and the addition of new businesses and profit centres. 118 Group is a multi million £ success story and is now gearing up for a possible AIM float in 2008. The business opened a state of the art call centre in Chelmsford during October 2006 and is now securing 2 additional locations for future growth, 1 additional centre in 2007 and a 2nd in 2008.

The recent appointment of Business Veteran, Richard Allan to the group as Chairman, Hugh Craen as Director, Peter Hill as Group FD, Scott Barker as Head of Risk and Jaynie Vincent as Group HR Director have cemented a really strong management team for the group. A successful pre IPO fund raising was completed in Quarter 3 of 2006 along with the opening of a new call centre in Asia.

The new call platform will allow customers to manage their advertising responses with direct platform access to standard 01 and 02 area numbers and alpha numeric and freephone numbers. This is a unique technology developed in conjunction with 118trades and TTNC, our telecom partner. The platform is a web based console and will allow real time reporting and routing of calls.
