Cube3 Digital bring Manchester and Bolton into partnership
Cube3 Digital, a division of Bolton based Cube3 Marketing, have combined the technical resources of Manchester and Bolton’s tourism portals in what is to provide a test case for possible online partnership projects in the future.
[UKPRwire, Fri Mar 30 2007] Cube3 Digital were responsible for redeveloping visitbolton.com, Bolton Council’s website promoting tourism in the area and provides information on what to do, entertainment, where to shop, where to eat, where to stay and much more.
The new site went live on March 28th 2007 and has been integrated with masses of content from the database of visitmanchester.com, the official tourism website for Greater Manchester. This combination of resources between Manchester and Bolton was successfully executed with the technical liaison of Cube3 Digital.
Chris Owens, Head of Digital at Cube3 Digital explains:
‘The Oracle database used by Manchester contains a huge amount of content relevant to Bolton, which the two organisations agreed to share. After some consultation, Cube3 have enabled the transfer of this third party content, through XML web services, onto the new version of visitbolton.com.’
The success of this project could see further sharing of information resources of this kind between Marketing Manchester, the Tourist Board for Greater Manchester and other Councils in Greater Manchester with Cube3 Digital leading the way.
