[UKPRwire, Thu Jan 25 2007] Workplace Law is holding a Mock Employment Tribunal at the MI Conference Centre, London, on 15 March 2007. This highly interactive event involves role play as well as observation and will provide first-hand experience of an Employment Tribunal in a safe environment.

Employment Tribunals can be immensely damaging for any employer; employees, applicants and workers can lodge an Employment Tribunal claim against a company at no cost. Reasons for claims include unfair dismissal, discrimination, unlawful deduction of wages and equal pay. Employers can incur thousands of pounds just defending a case and are unlikely to be able to reclaim their costs.

If the claim is successful, the employer will have to pay compensation which can, in some circumstances, be unlimited.
