Hundred Houses Society encourages environmental developments by providing bicycles to residents
[UKPRwire, Mon Oct 29 2007] Hundred Houses Society celebrates the completion of 43 new affordable homes at The Triangle, Station Road, Cambridge, developed in association with Cambridge City Council and Laing Homes.
To mark the occasion, Andie Harper of BBC Radio Cambridgeshire presented 13 fully equipped bicycles, donated by Hundred Houses Society, to new residents of the development. The ceremony was attended by Cambridge City Councillor Phillipa Slatter, and local residents.
Roger Wilson, Development Manager for Hundred Houses Society, said
"Hundred Houses is committed to promoting healthy lifestyles and encouraging environmentally-friendly developments. The provision of bicycles helps to meet these aims and the City Council’s ambitions to reduce traffic pollution."
The cycles were gifted to the Society's residents and remain their responsibility for maintenance. The Triangle development includes extensive secure, covered storage facilities for cycles.
Hundred Houses Society is a Registered Social Landlord providing affordable housing in the locality, and is regulated by the Housing Corporation.
