The Trafford Centre looks to Alliance Learning for safety training

The Trafford Centre in Manchester has appointed Alliance Learning to train its environmental services staff in the safe use of high-level access equipment.

[UKPRwire, Mon Oct 29 2007] The Trafford Centre in Manchester has appointed Alliance Learning to train its environmental services staff in the safe use of high-level access equipment.

One of the North West’s largest independent training providers with over 40 years experience in the training industry, Alliance Learning is to deliver training in IPAF and PASMA courses to over 20 of the Trafford Centre’s high- level environmental services staff over the forthcoming year.

The IPAF and PASMA are the UK awarding bodies for training in the use of mobile access platforms and mobile tower scaffolding respectively. This type of equipment is regularly used by staff at the Trafford Centre to clean high-level areas such as the centre’s iconic central dome and the Great Hall.

Gary Howarth Health & Safety Manager at the Trafford Centre was invited to an open day at Alliance Learning’s new specialised plant training centre at Horwich back in June and was impressed by the quality of the training facilities and the tutors at Alliance Learning. Gary outlines:

“We required a local provider who offered a good service and were able to give on-site training in IPAF and PASMA. Alliance Learning were short listed among a number of other local companies and were the first we visited. But we were so impressed with the training facilities at Alliance Learning, we felt we didn’t need to look elsewhere.”

This is a substantial new business acquisition for Alliance Learning adding a well-known local brand to its impressive client base of businesses across various industry sectors throughout the North West.

Commenting on the new contract Karen Wolfenden, Sales Manager at Alliance Learning said:

“This is a significant contract for us and demonstrates our expertise in the important field of Health & Safety. We look forward to training our client’s environmental services teams and helping to ensure the Trafford Centre is kept spick and span from top to bottom.”
