UK, February 2006 - Plug Lock have got it covered!

Launch of PlugLock - a device which can be used in a variety of situations. In homes and schools to prevent curious children. It can also be used within hosiptals, to prevent the unplugging of important machinery. Also used within IT departments, Police Stations, Call centres where it is important not to unplug computers etc.

[UKPRwire, Wed Feb 08 2006] Yorkshire based (also designed and produced) Plug Lock www.pluglock.co.uk are providers of a unique device - a plastic cover which can be fixed over sockets to prevent plugs being inadvertently removed but allows emergency access to the on-off switch – ideal for business (IT Departments), schools, homes and hospitals where accidental removal of a plug from a socket could be disastrous.

The recently launched innovative ‘Plug Lock’ is the brainchild of retired ex-sales director Bram Leitch who teamed up with Malcolm Walker, also retired. Together they have formed a team and supplied high profile organisations with their product.

Bram explains: “I designed the device years ago when my children were toddlers, who soon will have children of their own. They love the new design – it’s contemporary and will fit into the homes of today. I patented the design and then we took it to Mouldtech in Shipley – they produced the finished product and we are really pleased with the result!”

Malcolm adds: “We have experienced a tremendous amount of interest in Plug Lock via our website, even prior to any self promotion. We get orders from across the country and already Plug Lock has been installed within nurseries, schools, police stations, IT departments, hospitals and homes across the UK”.

Part of the lure towards the Plug Lock design is the ability to switch the sockets on and off if necessary; it is also easily installed in just three easy steps (explained in the notes below).

Made to the highest production standards, Plug Lock is constructed from high impact recyclable ABS plastic and is re-usable. BSI approved, Plug Lock secures plugs whilst keeping in line with health and safety regulations by allowing adults quick access to the switches. It has an innovative ‘split design’ back plate; Plug Locks’ front cover can be removed and stored for when it is needed. The unique design allows it to be moved and used time and time again. It is easy to fit, in the workplace or home; it has a clean, simple modern design which is attractive in any domestic or work setting.

Notes:
Easy steps to installing Plug Lock:

1. Having switched off the mains, unscrew (turning anti-clockwise) the two securing screws at either side of the socket front plate. It is only necessary to unscrew them for a distance of approximately 5mm or 1/4 inch.
2. After loosening the screws as required, pull the faceplate forward, leaving a small gap behind it into which you fit the split sections to the top and the bottom, then holding the two sections lightly so that they meet in the middle, re-tighten the two screws firmly. It is now safe to switch the mains supply on.

3. The rear section is now in place and you may plug in any appliances you want to use. Then hook the bottom of the front cover under the rear frame and click the top two lugs into place. Your plugs are now secure.

To open Plug Lock, depress the top two lugs and pull cover free. To remove Plug Lock, switch off power at main, then loosen face plate screws and remove sections. Remember to re-tighten screws before switching mains supply back on. Plug Lock is re-usable.
