VIEWS WANTED ON EMPLOYEE RETENTION

With employee engagement rising up the corporate agenda, TalentDrain, the people retention specialist, is asking HR practitioners to take part in a confidential online survey on labour turnover and staff retention.

[UKPRwire, Tue Sep 25 2007] With employee engagement rising up the corporate agenda, TalentDrain, the people retention specialist, is asking HR practitioners to take part in a confidential online survey on labour turnover and staff retention.

Due for publication in January 2008, TalentDrain's second Employee Retention Survey examines the real reasons why employees leave organisations, the impact of staff turnover on organisational performance, the interventions and approaches used to retain employees and the resources allocated to staff retention.

"Anyone working in HR can take part in this survey," said Ron Eldridge, Director of TalentDrain. "We're looking to dispel some of the myths and misconceptions of retention and highlight the key retention challenges, in order to provide a greater understanding of employee engagement."

To access the online survey, which should take around 10 minutes to complete, please visit http://www.talentdrain.com/surveys. The information provided will only be used in aggregation with the answers of other respondents and all who take part will receive a free pdf executive summary of the final findings.

When completing the survey, HR practitioners will also be able to test their knowledge of why people leave organisations. Based on the collective responses of 6,500 leavers, this 10-question multiple choice section will reveal often surprising answers. The responses will be available in a printable format, along with a brief discussion.

This section includes the questions:

Do people really leave their manager or the organisation?
Do more men or women leave because of bullying/harassment?
How long do people think about leaving before they go?
What is the most important factor for maintaining employee commitment?
What do leavers typically say about their organisations in anonymous exit surveys?

TalentDrain's first Employee Retention Survey was published in 2006. It explored the use of exit interviews and the mismatch between employer and employee priorities in the psychological contract.
