[UKPRwire, Mon Jul 31 2006] A NATIONWIDE hunt has started to find the UK's Worst Workplace Tie.

Stylish website www.tiewarehouse.co.uk has launched a competition to track down so-called tie criminals, as part of its campaign: Smarten Britain's Workplaces.

Workers are being asked to email pictures of their tie criminal colleagues – with their permission – through to the website, via www.tiewarehouse.co.uk/badties. The winner will get a pack of brand new stylish ties!

Tie Warehouse's Gary Baker said: "We all work with one, now is the chance to show them how bad their tie crime is. Plus they've got a good chance of winning some new ties and leaving their past life as a tie criminal behind them".

Already, Tie Warehouse has identified the 5 classic tie criminals, and has posted photos and descriptions of them on its website. They include:

(see the photos at www.tiewarehouse.co.uk/badties)

The Big Knot: He thinks the bigger the knot the better – is he arrogant and doesn't care who knows, or shy and trying to hide it?

Mr Chicken Choker: Stressed and tight, just like his tie knot

Sid Stains: Nice beer stains, Sid. Ever been to the dry cleaners?

The Tie Tucker: Can't tie his tie properly so tucks the long end into his trousers

Retro Man: Who cares if that kipper tie went out in '83?

If you have any photos of colleagues wearing bad ties, go to www.tiewarehouse.co.uk/badties to add them to the website's Bad Tie Gallery.
