Aintree University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Delivers Secure Flexible Working to Employees
Secure remote access solution from Network Defence enables Trust employees to work from home with an easy-to-use and cost effective solution
[UKPRwire, Thu Oct 01 2009] Aintree University Hospitals NHS Trust has deployed a new secure remote computer access solution from leading IT security specialist Network Defence. The new solution will enable cost-effective flexible working for staff working off site or from home, with much higher security than before.
In order to enable remote working for its employees whilst ensuring patient and other sensitive data was protected, the Trust required a solution that provided strong security, which incorporated secure connectivity and strong authentication, and was easy for employees to use.
The new solution from Network Defence enables Aintree University Hospitals NHS Trust to provide remote access to a much larger number of employees than before, at the fraction of the cost of the previous solution.
A key benefit of the solution is that, as well as providing a robust level of remote access security, it gives the Trust close management over users’ access, giving them the ability to grant or restrict access rights depending on individual needs. Additionally, the solution is able to accommodate third party access if required by the organisation.

As part of the deployment Network Defence implemented the AppGate Security Server solution with Nordic Edge two factor authentication. The solution securely accesses the protected network from a remote device using authentication, encryption and access restriction.
