LobsterTunes offers a rich mobile music experience that provides over-the-air access to a music collection stored on a home PC. When launched on the Pocket PC, LobsterTunes immediately goes online via WiFi or 3G and connects to music folders stored on the PC. Users can then browse the music library and build a playlist of the tracks they want to hear.
LobsterTunes solves two of the most vexing problems for wireless music players: the downtime while waiting for tunes to download, and pauses in the music when you briefly lose your wireless connection. Once the first file is downloaded and begins playing on the Pocket PC, LobsterTunes's advanced caching capabilities will automatically go and “catch” the additional tunes in the playlist.
