Evidian Looks to Sign Up Channel Partners for SSO Solutions at Infosecurity 2007

Leading Enterprise Single Sign On (E-SSO) vendor targets resellers

[UKPRwire, Mon Apr 23 2007] Evidian, a European leader in Identity and Access Management (IAM), is launching itself to the UK channel at Infosecurity 2007, and using the event to recruit VARs and systems integrators for its range of Enterprise Single Sign On (E-SSO) solutions.

The company has already appointed specialist distributor AppSpeed to drive channel sales through VARs in the security and thin-client computing sectors. It is also seeking systems integrators looking to add SSO capabilities as part of their wider authentication and security solutions.

Evidian’s core SSO solution secures access to all types of corporate application – whether Windows, Citrix, Linux, Unix, web-based or mainframe.
Evidian E-SSO combines multi-factor authentication with a plug-and-play SSO solution, replacing user passwords with digital signatures based on certificates, smart cards, USB keys, or biometrics. Access is authorised according to existing security policies and enterprise directories.

In a recent sector overview, analyst Gartner observed rapid take-up in enterprise SSO, and predicts further strong market growth. Evidian’s solutions were rated "Positive" in this MarketScope report. Evidian says this makes its solutions an ideal added-value proposition for VARs and SIs.

Evidian's sales manager for UK & Ireland, Nick Lamidey said: “We’re following a 100% channel-only sales model and looking to quickly expand our partner base, to capitalise on the strong interest in authentication and E-SSO solutions in the corporate & public sector. SSO delivers security where it’s most often needed – at the user identification and authentication level – and Evidian’s solutions make SSO easy to deploy and manage."

Mark Lardner, MD of AppSpeed commented: “Evidian’s solutions are a key part of securing applications and data across the enterprise. Corporates want to simplify user access without compromising security, but current solutions are limited in terms of integration with existing business processes, infrastructure and administration. Evidian E-SSO overcomes these constraints, and delivers rapid ROI to organisations deploying it.”

E-SSO increases enterprise security by enforcing application password policy; automatically creating and changing application passwords, therefore reducing the need for users to write down their passwords. Additional benefits of increased user satisfaction and productivity, regulatory compliance, and reduced helpdesk costs (IDC estimate in excess of 30% of helpdesk call are attributed to password resets) are experienced by organisations that have successfully implemented E-SSO.

Evidian E-SSO includes integrated tools to enable in-depth reporting that conforms to regulatory requirements such as Sarbanes-Oxley, local financial security laws, Basel II 11 and HIPAA.

Evidian E-SSO can be deployed on its own or integrated with the majority of identity management solutions. It is supported by Evidian's modular identity and access management (IAM) suite, which offers numerous complementary functions including Web/J2EE access control, identity management and user provisioning.

Evidian E-SSO is available for Windows XP, 2000 and 2003 workstations. For thin clients, Evidian E-SSO is also available in the Windows Terminal Server and Citrix (MetaFrame, Presentation Server and NFuse) environments.
