Alienation Digital the Glasgow based web design and digital marketing specialists donated an Apple iPad, the latest 'must have' gadget to Glasgow's Twestival, but the lucky winner software developer Kevin McDermott will have to wait to get his hands on his prize as Apple have not yet released the iPad in the UK
[UKPRwire, Tue Mar 30 2010] Kevin McDermott will be one of the first people in Scotland to own an Apple iPad, the latest ‘must have’ gadget, after Alienation Digital donated one to Glasgow’s Twestival.
Kevin, 36, a software developer who live at Eglinton Toll in Glasgow said: “I’m really delighted that Alienation gave me the chance to get my hands on an iPad and help a good cause at the same time.
“I am permanently connected to the Internet, and the iPad will take my addiction to new heights.”
The iPad is Apple’s latest tablet shaped device, designed to be used for reading books, watching movies and surfing the internet.
Glasgow’s Twestival, which was held in the city’s Landsdowne Bar, raised, close to £6000 for the international charity Concern Worldwide, eclipsing the Edinburgh Twestival’s total of £3,600. The two cities engage in friendly rivalry over the size of their charity donation.
Neil Barr Alienation’s MD said: “We were proud to be the event’s official ‘Live Act’ sponsor as well as putting up the iPad, which created a tremendous buzz at the event.
“We had hoped the iPad would be available in the UK in time for the Festival, but it’s now looking like an April launch. We have pre-ordered Kevin’s iPad to make sure he is one of the first to get his hands on one.”
Alienation’s Sales Director David Johnstone presented Kevin with a replica iPad at the Festival.
