UK Blogger Experiences Worldwide Surge in ITIL Interest.
Robin Yearsley, founder of the IT Service Blog, reports worldwide interest in the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is at an all time high, as he launches a new Blog dedicated to IT Service Management and ITIL.
[UKPRwire, Mon Mar 27 2006] Recent research into ITIL adoption shows consistent growth in the ITIL best practice framework. According to Forrester Research, ITIL adoption among $1billion+ revenue companies has increased substantially in the past year. The number is projected to reach 80% within global 2000 companies by 2010.
"Worldwide interest in ITIL is growing apace," confirms Yearsley. "Interest in the IT Service Blog is growing rapidly each day from every corner of the world. Regular readers from Iceland, Alaska and China complement the critical mass of practising ITIL corporations from Europe, the US, Australia and Canada."
"What's really interesting is the level of anticipation in the forthcoming new version of ITIL - Version 3," says Yearsley. "We have received particular attention around our Version three perspectives slide deck - which can be downloaded free of charge from the Blog."
Yearsley believes the massive interest in ITIL is being driven by a number of factors. The need for stronger corporate governance requirements such as Sarbanes-Oxley, the need to demonstrate tangible ROI on IT investments and the over-arching goal of service providers to demonstrate they are meeting their clients requirements.
Yearsley declined to comment further about speculation that this Blog is just the beginning of a series of "IT Service" sites but did reveal that he has also recently launched a complementary IT Service focussed Search Engine (http://www.ITServiceToday.com). Aimed specifically at practicing ITIL professionals, the new search engine actually favours IT Service Management and ITIL in the results it presents.
As a way of rewarding people for telling their colleagues about the site - Yearsley has included a special "Tell a friend or Colleague" feature - which he says is proving very popular. "I wanted to ensure that word spread quickly about the site to actively promote the benefits of IT Service Management, so if you tell a friend - you get the latest 20 IT Service Management links sent dierctly to your in-box."
You can claim your 20 links here:- http://www.ITServiceToday.com/tellafriend.html
