Advanced security features enabled on setup with single-click SecureEZSetup Wizard
[UKPRwire, Mon Jun 11 2007] USRobotics, a Platinum Equity company and leader in Internet access and networking solutions, is now shipping its Ndx family of wireless network solutions, offering users maximum speed, range, security and ease of deployment for the home or office.
The Ndx Wireless Product Family uses USRobotics’ Ndx technology to give data speeds up to 270 Mbps, and range up to five times greater than current, standard 802.11g products.
The Ndx range also overcomes wireless security risks with USRobotics’ advanced SecureEZSetup™ installation wizard. This seamlessly configures inbuilt security features during installation of Ndx adapters, routers or access points with a single mouse click, ensuring networks and data are locked down.
USRobotics claims this overcomes users’ fears of hacking by enabling security by default. Analysts and industry observers agree that over 30 percent of all wireless networks available are unsecured.
Ndx security capabilities include Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA), WPA2/802.11i, 802.1x Authentication and 64/128-bit WEP or AES encryption. Additionally, the Wireless Ndx Router and ADSL2+ Gateway include integrated advanced firewall (SPI) support for VPN Termination (IPSec) and VPN pass-through, as well as MAC Address Authentication. Routers also feature parental controls to limit access.

Compliant with the IEEE 802.11n Draft 1.0 standard for wireless networking products, the Ndx family is also fully compatible with previous wireless standards and products, including those meeting the 802.11b/g standards, USRobotics’ own MAXg wireless product family, and other accelerated wireless technologies.
