New Phone Helps Fight Global Warming

CharityMobiles.co.uk and BART working together to help plant trees in the Brazilian Rainforest.

[UKPRwire, Thu Oct 05 2006] Global warming is believed to be caused by an overall change in the balance of gases produced by the planet. The reduction of rainforests causes less oxygen to be produced, and other man-caused factors such as high production of hydro-carbons and reduction of the ozone layer are considered to be other key contributors.

The Brazilian Atlantic Rainforest is one of the most bio-diverse forests in the world, with as many as 450 species of tree per hectare. Today, less than 7% of this amazing wonder of nature remains.
In 2005, the Brazilian Atlantic Rainforest Trust (BART) contributed to the planting of 8,000 new trees, and aims to plant a further 8,500 by the end of 2006.

So what does all this have to do with mobile phones?

Thanks to a new partnership between the Brazilian Atlantic Rainforest Trust and innovative new company Charity Mobiles, BART can plant 5 new trees for every new mobile phone sold. When you next need to change your mobile phone, simply go to the Charity Mobiles site and choose BART as your charity of preference. Charity Mobiles will then donate £25 to BART, which at £5 a tree, means that you get to help save the world, and it hasn't cost you a penny.

CharityMobiles.co.uk is a unique UK mobile phone site where £25 is donated to your chosen charity for every contract mobile phone purchased on the site. So far well over £10,000 has been raised for registered UK charities.
