[UKPRwire, Thu Jun 04 2009] British Recycled Products is pleased to now be able to supply tongue and grooved recycled plastic lumber, made from 100% recycled plastic waste diverted from landfill.
Suitable for a wide range of applications, including panelling, fencing and walkways, the resilience of the recycled material means the whole-life costs are considerably lower than timber. It is impervious to water, algae and insects, and does not crack, splinter or fade either.
Tongue and groove is an easy method of fitting fencing or decking together, edge to edge. It allows two flat pieces to be joined strongly together to make a single flat surface. Each piece has a slot (the groove) cut all along one edge, and a thin, deep ridge (the tongue) on the opposite edge. The tongue projects a little less than the groove is deep. Two or more pieces thus fit together closely, without the joint needing to be fixed or glued.
