TERBERG GEAR UP FOR NOTTINGHAMSHIRE CONSORTIUM MUNICIPAL VEHICLE SUPPLY CONTRACT

Terberg Matec UK Ltd., a leading supplier of equipment to the public and private municipal sector has been selected as the lead contractor for the supply of refuse collection vehicles complete with Terberg binlift equipment as part of a group purchasing project tendered by the Nottinghamshire Consortium.

[UKPRwire, Thu Feb 05 2009] The Nottinghamshire Consortium is a group of eight local authorities comprising Nottinghamshire City Council, the borough councils of Rushcliffe, Gedling and Broxtowe and the district councils for Newark and Sherwood, Mansfield, Bassetlaw and Ashfield. The ‘Consortium’ partnership work to specify and procure equipment for all members and is recognised as the first of its type that aims to stick to the guns of Government guidelines, guidelines which endorse the power of group purchasing in an attempt to minimise operating costs.

The contract awarded to Terberg Matec UK Ltd. follows a comprehensive tender, presentation and evaluation process. The contract award is for an initial two year period and carries an option to extend the contract that could see Terberg awarded the supply rights to the ‘Consortium’ until 2013.

Will Marzano, Managing Director for Terberg Matec UK Ltd. had this to say,
“Securing the contract with the Nottinghamshire Consortium represents the culmination of a great deal of hard work and dedication by our team here at Terberg, the results of which are great compliment to the effort put in and a really positive start to the year.
We believe that Terberg offer the very best in terms of product quality and after- sales support service and our capability to consistently translate this belief into practice will undoubtedly stand us in good stead to ensure we deliver both product and service to the Consortium of the highest standard.”

The supply package, due to commence in April 2009, gives the Nottinghamshire Consortium the flexibility to select various Terberg bin lifts mounted onto Dennis Eagle refuse collection bodies and chassis ranging from 18 to 32 tonne GVW all of which are offered with a wealth of support facilities including LOLER examinations, service inspections, local field service support and a dedicated service centre located at Terberg’s production factory in Nottinghamshire, combining to provide a level of after-sales support that commensurate with that expected by the Nottinghamshire Consortium.

The Terberg bin lifts offered consist of a mix of their latest bin lift technology, including the split automatic low maintenance OmniDEL range and other family members such as the low level TCA-OEL, the high Level split automatic TCA-DE and the all new high level OmniDE and OmniTRADE heavy duty bar lift ranges.

A detailed comprehensive training package has also been specifically designed by Terberg which encompasses operative and technical training sessions both on site and at Terberg’s premises within Nottinghamshire ensuring that all eight ‘Consortium’ councils are equipped with the required skills and knowledge to operate all equipment safely and efficiently.

Looking to the future, Terberg are hopeful that the low maintenance, robust build and high reliability attributes of its bin lift range and the Dennis Eagle RCV product will prove themselves as the right equipment for the job in hand and look forward to working towards being selected for the consortium contract extension in 2011.
