Nigella Lawson may have taken the crown of domestic goddess, but it’s not too late to get your baking skills recognised. Contract caterer, 7 Day Catering have launched their inaugural “Home Bake Challenge” competition and are looking for the nation’s most innovative recipes.
[UKPRwire, Thu Nov 29 2007] Recognising the wealth of baking knowledge across the UK, 7 Day Catering are calling on foodies everywhere to enter the competition.
Sales and marketing director, Mark Johnson comments: “For a number of years we’ve promoted our “Home Bake” section on the website to give our caterers a chance to pass on their recipes. We wanted to go a step further and came up with the novel idea of holding an annual challenge for everyone to join in, a chance for professionals and enthusiastic amateurs alike to enter.”
The winning entry will receive an award, and the opportunity to have their recipe sampled by the public at over 150 sites operated by 7 Day Catering. Closing date for entries is 14 January 2008.
Mark continued: “Entries are to be as unusual and tasty as possible, yet still be accessible for all to re-create and feed our imagination. The scope is limitless as long as it involves good food - it may be an old family recipe or something recently discovered - the marrying of good quality ingredients to create a delicious baked product.
“Recipes can be seasonal, a winter warming crumble for example, or a charming little cake that’s light with fruit, the sort of food that heightens the senses, and gives a great sense of enjoyment. Good food should be joy for all and we want to share in the depth of knowledge that’s out there.”
