BUMBLE BEER TO TAKE THE UK BY STORM

Multi-award winning micro-brewery Wentworth Brewery has launched what it believes will be its most successful beer ever – Wentworth Bumble Beer. Wentworth’s very own honey beer (which won the SIBA Speciality Class, Silver Medal 2006) is a 4.3% ABV golden honey beer, and is now launched to market.

[UKPRwire, Thu Jun 28 2007] Multi-award winning micro-brewery Wentworth Brewery has launched what it believes will be its most successful beer ever – Wentworth Bumble Beer. Wentworth’s very own honey beer (which won the SIBA Speciality Class, Silver Medal 2006) is a 4.3% ABV golden honey beer, and is now launched to market.

The slightly sweet, distinctive golden beer takes on a subtly different taste at four separate times during the honey season between Spring and Autumn – depending on exactly what flowers the local bees are pollinating.

Bumble Beer has been produced by Wentworth for some time, however fears last year that the brewery might run into trademark difficulties meant that the launch of Bumble Beer needed to be put ‘on ice’ until trademark protection could be confirmed.

Wentworth’s Chris Tinker explains: “A couple of years ago we produced a cask ale with a small hint of local honey added, and it fondly became known as Bumble Beer. We were all ready to press the button and properly launch it to the UK marketplace when we were advised that we had no trademark protection. Whilst this may not sound like a big deal, there are many imitations of Bumble Beer in the market place, and there are many much larger breweries who would love to have Bumble Beer as a brand to market. Hence we had to hold tight but having secured the trademark we are now able to properly launch Bumble Beer.”

The bottled version of Wentworth Bumble Beer is a brand new product which has not been available in the shops before. The striking new Bumble Beer logo is also brand new and has been specially created for the launch of the bottled beer. Orders have already been placed by ASDA, Booths Supermarkets, and Rhythm and Booze, with many more supermarkets expected to follow suit.
