[UKPRwire, Thu Jul 08 2010] Cookie, the award-winning eatery in Glasgow’s southside, is hosting a European white wine tasting evening, featuring a range of distinctive wines with a dedicated menu to usher in the summer.

Cookie co-owner, Domenico Del Priore, said, “We are going to look at wines without oak. The use of oak in the wine making process can often mask the truth about it. At this wine tasting evening we will be rediscovering familiar grapes in their crisp state and introducing some less familiar grapes which are well worth discovering.

“We will also some introduce very unfamiliar wines such as Brachetto, a rarely found grape from the Piedmont area that is a great summer drink with low alcohol content.”

Cookie’s white wine tasting event takes place from 6.30pm on Tuesday 20th July. Places, priced £25pp including a dedicated three course meal with a selection of wines, can be booked by phoning Cookie on 0141 423 1411.

The wine tasting follows Cookie’s launch last month of an off-sales wine list offering customers a distinctive selection of reasonably priced wines not readily available elsewhere in the southside – or indeed the UK.

Cookie is based at 72 Nithsdale Road, Pollokshields, Glasgow. For further information about Cookie log on to www.cookiescotland.com
