[UKPRwire, Tue Oct 27 2009] Curry may be the national dish but the government is stopping the chefs who make the best from coming to the UK. This report from the online news channel WORLDbytes details how the draconian visa points based system is now turning thousands away and making many ineligible to stay.

People who are just doing their jobs and providing us with the cuisine we enjoy are being treated like animals. Master chefs are being detained or sent home without seeing their families and friends, employers are being fined and businesses are closing. On the streets of East London, the public and restaurant managers are disgusted and WORLDwrite demands we let everyone in.

Mr Jabez Lam from the Chinese Immigration Concern Committee says:

“The UK Borders Police Agency now has a lot of power. Immigration come in to a Chinese take away shop...seal the premises and then check everyone’s immigration status. We have cases of customers who are Chinese being asked to see their papers as well... This is not just affecting catering but whole communities.”
