National Homebuyers: 'Pressure builds for more homes'
There may be a surge in people seeking a fast property sale as the government comes under pressure to press ahead with plans to build new homes.
[UKPRwire, Fri Feb 15 2008] The National Housing Federation (NHF) is calling for progress to be made towards the government target of constructing three million new homes by 2020.
However, this could come as a blow to homeowners, as more available properties are likely to bring the average house price down.
Therefore, the NHF's call for more to be done could lead to a rise in people seeking a fast property sale in order to make as much money as possible from the sale of their houses.
A spokesman for the NHF said: "What we need to do is focus on the supply of new housing. The government has said that it wants to increase house building and Gordon Brown has said that it's a great cause for our time, so this really needs to follow through and make sure that these commitments actually do result in more homes being built.
"The government needs to make sure that the investment in new housing from housing associations comes through so that we get more affordable homes.
"But it also needs to make sure that land is released and made available for new housing," he added.
Fast property sale expert Julian King says, "Although the number of homes planned for the UK does not satisfy the demand. It's the availability of the properties that are keeping the rental market bouyant.
"Property prices are falling and there is a lack of confidence in the market for new buyers to enter. This is a continued concern to homesellers who are faced with a limited number of buyers in a falling market".
Mr King is a director of National Homebuyers, the UK's leading quick home sale firm, guaranteeing a fast property sale for vendors who need a quick sale. The company also offers solid Sell and Rent Back agreements for homeowners who are seeking to release equity in their home.
