Prices fall across half the country, says National Homebuyers
Figures for August show that house prices fell in half of all regions in England and Wales.
[UKPRwire, Wed Oct 03 2007] The Land Registry has published its House Price Index for the month revealing a number of negative movements.
The east, south-west, Wales, the north-east and the East Midlands all saw prices drop by at least 0.1 per cent.
Prices in the East Midlands suffered the most, seeing a 1.1 per cent drop, while the north-east also saw big losses of 0.9 per cent.
It is bad news for homeowners in these regions, some of whom may be in financial difficulty and need to sell their property in order to avoid having their home repossessed.
People who may have inherited a home through a family bereavement, won it in a divorce settlement or needs to sell it in order to pay for the treatment of someone who is in ill-health may consider a quick property sale in order to get the maximum return possible.
Julian King of National Homebuyers says this is only the beginning of a nationwide price fall.
"We have been suggesting for many months that prices will fall and that only when the delayed Land Registry figures support this will the country begin to understand the problems property prices are facing.
"The House Price Index is the best barometer of future house prices and it does not look good".
National Homebuyers are the UK's leading fast property purchase firm, guaranteeing a quick sale on any UK property, regardless of its condition, for vendors who need a quick sale.
"Our analysts are preparing us for a huge influx of business in Q1 2008 because vendors are finding it impossible to sell their property and will need a quick sale" adds Mr King.
