Slow market predicted for 2008 according to National Homebuyers
There may be a surge in people seeking a fast property sale as one firm predicts a slow market in 2008.
[UKPRwire, Wed Jan 09 2008] According to Property Finder, the next 12 months will see house sales fall as consumers lose confidence in the market.
New purchases are set to be down as people adopt a more conservative approach to housing.
"Spending money on housing is clearly less important to people for 2008 than it was last year," said Warren Bright, chief executive of Property Finder.
The firm has revealed that only 19.4 per cent of UK homebuyers are looking to upgrade their house in 2008, denting the chances of making a fast property sale.
This figure is down on the 24.6 per cent who were looking to upgrade at the beginning of 2007.
The latest Halifax House Price Index showed that the average UK property price fell by 1.1 per cent between October and November.

"The lack of available buyers will mean that the time to sell a property will increase further and homeowners needing a quick sale to achieve the right price will find that the buyers can easily command prices down".
