On a train journey he made to work every day, Paul Collins happened to look up to see the stranger opposite reading a Karting magazine. Little did he know that striking up a conversation about it would lead to where it has.
[UKPRwire, Wed May 10 2006] On a train journey he made to work every day, Paul Collins happened to look up to see the stranger opposite reading a Karting magazine. Little did he know that striking up a conversation about it would lead to where it has. The man reading the magazine was James Halton and now he and Paul have combined forces to become one of the leading lights in the competitive Karting market.
Paul describes the chance encounter as one in a million. "I just noticed he was reading a karting mag so asked if he had ever been before. He explained how he was a keen karting enthusiast, like myself, and it all started from there". The two of them discussed the issue at length and decided that they really liked the idea of setting up their own karting venue. "We were both experienced in the business world but wanted to do something that we were both enthusiastic about. Hence, the idea to set up our own karting circuit".
The world of karting is very competitive which is something that both Paul and James managed to negotiate. James explains how they overcame the many obstacles that stood in the way of them pursuing their dream. "We did our research and saw that there were many quality websites out there, such as The Activity People and Karting Nation, and decided that instead of competing against them, that we would become affiliated with them and this arrangement has definitely proved to be mutually beneficial".
The two of them realised that the power of advertising and getting your name out there was critical to the success of their venue. This is where The Activity People and Karting Nation came into play. "We saw that their coverage on the internet was vast and the list of venues associated with them was, quite frankly, rather impressive. We knew that it made perfect business sense to become part of their venture and this is definitely something that we don't regret doing as our bookings has risen exponentially".
From humble beginnings, with the chance encounter on a train, Paul and James' Karting dream has become a reality that goes from strength to strength.
