Esporta Sheffield to launch youth football academy
Ex- Blades’ Star Holdsworth recognises local talent
[UKPRwire, Wed Aug 01 2007] Esporta Sheffield has pulled off a major coup in securing the services of ex-Sheffield United favourite David Holdsworth. The former Blades’ star has announced he is to open an innovative football academy for Sheffield’s budding under 11s footballers.
The academy - which will be based exclusively at Esporta Sheffield - will run for a week during August and parents are now invited to telephone 0114 250 5050 for further information and to register their children.
Up to 30 boys and girls will learn both practical and theoretical aspects of the game under direct supervision of a professional footballer with many years’ valuable experience in the Premier League, as well as other English divisions.
Alistair Kennedy, general manager of Esporta Sheffield, said: “David has many years in the game and his wealth of knowledge will provide the kids with a great week of fun and education and more importantly get them off the sofa and into some fantastic exercise.
I am absolutely delighted that we have managed to do a deal with David where he will run his Elite Academy exclusively with Esporta.
