10 Top 100 legal firms enhance dictation efficiencies with the SRC WinScribe Blackberry solution

SRC deploy the WinScribe Blackberry dictation solution to 10 Top 100 legal firms.

[UKPRwire, Tue Nov 11 2008] SRC, the document creation professionals, announced today that they have deployed the WinScribe Blackberry dictation solution at 10 Top 100 legal firms. The solution, developed in association with RIM, is enhancing efficiencies and speeding up document turnaround times at each of the ten law firms. These benefits are provided by fee earners being able to use their Blackberry devices to record and securely send dictations for immediate transcription while out of the office.

Andrew Meade, IT Director at Forsters said: “WinScribe for Blackberry smartphones has made it possible for authors to dictate and send the job for transcription the same day from anywhere they are and without any difficulties in terms of file size or security requirements. Using our BlackBerry devices to create dictation has given us the opportunity to increase speed and flexibility in our every day creation of legal documents.”

WinScribe were the first vendor to provide insert and overwrite functionality and the software continues to be the most fully functioned Blackberry dictation client available.

The Legal Technology Insider (206 February 2008 issue) reported the solution as particularly easy to use saying: “There is an extra icon on the home screen, clicking on that brings up a Winscribe jobs menu. Click on ‘create jobs’ to bring up the Winscribe Mobile Recorder application and then use the trackball to jump between the record, stop, rewind and play commands. For hard core dictators, used to the traditional multi-function slider switch found on digital recorders, the Winscribe system achieves about as close a replication of this experience that is possible on a Blackberry.”

Chris Hart, CEO at SRC added: “With the ever more popular Blackberry solution and the increased usage of Speech Recognition we are helping our customers enhance the way they create documents. This is helping them achieve significant time and cost savings by accelerating dictation and transcription processes.”
