Digital Vision Gains Green Credentials with Solar-Powered Heating and Ventilation

First UK company to install solar powered ventilation technology to reduce its carbon footprint

[UKPRwire, Fri Mar 30 2007] Digital Vision has installed advanced solar-powered heating and ventilation technology at its Northwich headquarters, in a bid to reduce its overall carbon footprint and adopt a more environmentally friendly approach to its business operations.

The document processing specialist, whose headquarters are located on the Gadbrook Industrial Estate, is the very first commercial organisation in the UK to have installed a Solarventi unit, which uses green solar energy to help heat internal spaces at the company¡¦s offices, providing regular fresh warmed air and reducing humidity.

The SolarVenti device relies entirely on solar cells for its power, helping to reduce the company¡¦s reliance on conventional fossil fuel-generated energy, cutting heating and energy consumption costs and playing an important role in Digital Vision¡¦s bid to become a carbon neutral organisation.

Dennis Wright, managing director of Digital Vision said: ¡§As a business, we help companies to reduce their use of paper by automating business processes, which also enables them to reduce their carbon footprint. We wanted to look at ways in which we could work towards being carbon neutral here at Digital Vision.

¡§The UK has an average of 1600 hours of sunlight each year ¡V even in the North West ¡V and the Solarventi units work all year round for free with no environmental impact, helping heat the offices, reducing the humidity and circulating warmed fresh air. This helps us to avoid ¡¥sick building syndrome¡¦ and keep our workforce healthy. We would be crazy NOT to have done this!¡¨
