Give Santa's reindeer a rest by sending e-cards at Christmas

Alienation Digital the Glasgow based web design and digital marketing agency predicts a tenfold increase in the use of e-cards at Christmas as businesses fighting the recession realise the cards save money time and trees.

[UKPRwire, Fri Oct 09 2009] Businesses fighting the effects of the recession should give Santa’s reindeer a rest and send their Christmas greetings online instead of by post this year.

David Johnstone, Sales Director with web design and on online marketing specialist Alienation Digital predicts an explosion in demand for e-cards this Christmas.

He said: “We expect to see a ten-fold increase in the number of businesses using e-cards this year.

“Last year we sent cards for dozens of companies and charities, including British American Tobacco, Children’s Hospice Association Scotland and financial advisors, St James’s Place.

“E-cards save money, time and trees and they are so simple to use. Clients pick a static or animated design, send us their logo and address list and we do the rest.

“Compare that with the time and money involved in buying and posting traditional cards, not to mention the hours spent signing them all.

“Branded e-cards start at £150 and for around £350 we will send them to a client’s database, regardless of the number of cards involved.

“If that wasn’t enough we can tell how many cards went out and how many were opened. We can even include a call to action, such as a ‘donate to charity’ link, and tell you how many were acted on.

“Businesses sending e-cards can put a link to their favourite charity or send one that allows their client to nominate the charity of their choice.

“So be prepared. Santa could be coming to a computer screen near you this Christmas.”
