Italian Car Dealership Reaps the Benefits of Dynamic In-window Displays

Cars, a Jaguar dealership in Italy. The screen enables targeted communication of powerful, real-time, visual information on car incentives, deals and promotions to consumer audiences visiting, driving or passing-by the showroom.

Any business dealing directly with the consumer on the high street needs to implement effective communication techniques with prospective clients using its shop windows. Car dealerships are no exception. The Jaguar dealership in Monza, near Milan, operates an energetic car showroom and needed a display solution that would allow the business to update its branding and promotional messages regularly, in order to show the whole range of models available for sale. It also required a display that would produce sharp images from any angle, as the dealership is located in a densely populated, high traffic area. Additionally, the business wanted the ability to continue using the shop window for car access, even after installing the display system.
Vikuiti Rear Projection screens from 3M addressed this criteria perfectly. The Jaguar dealership has installed a 75 inch diagonal screen and a 3M X80 digital projector mounted on the ceiling behind. The final result is fully satisfactory, according to Davide Ferrari, Marketing & Communication Manager at J.B. Cars in Monza, “Because of busy traffic on the main road, long lines of cars are formed every day in front of our windows, and drivers have a lot of time to read our offering!”
Visibility of the Vikuiti Rear Projection screen is perfect owing to its 180 degree viewability. Drivers, as well as people passing by on foot, can easily read text, images and video whether they are far away from the window or close to. Consistent levels of brightness and image clarity are produced with no “hot spots” or dark corners, even though the main showroom window is in direct sunlight during most part of the day. The window can still be opened and closed for car access. Furthermore, the total cost of the solution is lower compared to traditional large-format LCD panels or Plasma screens, for example.
