Electrical contractors McElwaine Electric, based in Lisnaskea, Belfast and Limavady have just completed a £113,000 contract at Mourneview Park, home to Glenavon Football Club.
[UKPRwire, Fri Mar 05 2010] Electrical contractors McElwaine Electric, based in Lisnaskea, Belfast and Limavady have just completed a £113,000 contract at Mourneview Park, home to Glenavon Football Club.
The contract was funded by the IFA as part of the FIFA Goal Funding Scheme, and consisting of an upgrade of the main floodlighting at Mourneview Park to provide UEFA standard lighting with 500lux average on the vertical plane, along with the installation of lighting to a training pitch on the Tandragee Road to provide 100lux horizontal illumination.
John McElwaine, Managing Director of McElwaine Group said “This was a great project for McElwaine Electric as it shows the diversity we operate in. The works at Mourneview Park were completed within set two week period, allowing us to provide minimum disruption to the club’s fixtures”.
Since the installation Glenavon FC secured a 1-0 win over Newry City in the first match under the new lights and then went on to beat Coleraine 2-1 and Institute 2-1 last weekend.
Works at Mourneview consisted of the removal of the existing floodlighting installation from 33m towers, to installation of new MUSCO Green Energy floodlights on new bracketry and crainage to erect the new frames.
John McElwaine, continued “The new floodlighting will be more efficient that the previous installation and also comes with a 10 year operating guarantee, most importantly it gives the team the opportunity to play under better lighting conditions”.
