Trident announce the introduction of the latest capacitive touchscreen overlay range from DMC
[UKPRwire, Mon Nov 19 2007] Trident announce the introduction of the latest capacitive touchscreen overlay range from DMC. The range, available from Trident, includes 15 inch, 17 inch and 19 inch standard touchscreen membranes, with USB and RS232 controllers also available. The conductive coated glass panel enables the display to be shown with a minimal loss of clarity as these products boast an 83% light transmittance.
The touchscreens are easily installed on to a monitor, and Trident is able to offer the overlays ready assembled. The glass and bezel can be sealed onto the monitor, making them durable and resistant to moisture, dirt and dust. This makes them commonly used in harsher environments like gaming, vending retail displays, public kiosks and industrial applications.
Capacitive touchscreens operate by a small current of electricity that runs across the screen with circuits located at the corners of the panel to measure the capacitance of a person touching the overlay. Touching the screen draws current to the finger and the software calculates a position of the touch.
This new range of touchscreen overlays compliments Trident’s existing portfolio of resistive, projected capacitive, optical, SAW and infrared touchscreen technologies that are available for a wide variety of applications.
