The fundamental backbone of the new centre is a high tech call handling system, and we have awarded the business to telappliant. The system has been installed over the last 10 days and is ready to go live now. Telappliant is the UK and European provider of low-cost IP telephony solutions for business and deploy a wide range of VOIP solutions and services ranging from IP PBXs to bespoke calling card platforms and IP call termination services. The system ordered by 118 Group Holdings will carry calls via Opal Telecom, the business billing platform owned by Carphone Warehouse”

118 Group Holdings is a multi million £ business with interests in Advertising, Directories, Media, Mobile, Publishing and Telecoms. The business has recently created 350 new jobs at the Chelmsford call centre and has a planning application pending for a further 700 seat call centre in Chelmsford.
The business was founded in 2005 by Daniel Corby, former Sales Director of phones4u, the mobile phone retailer.
The group has recently made some major appointments to the board including business veteran Richard Allan, the former CEO of Perry Group plc and Hugh Craen, the former MD of Potential Finance Group plc. 118 Group Holdings is planning to float on AIM in 2007 / 2008 to fund further acquisitions.
