118 Group wins OFCOM license to operate full directory enquiries in the UK
Daniel Corby, CEO and Founder of 118 Group, has won an OFCOM license to operate a full 118 directory enquiry service for the UK market
[UKPRwire, Fri Jul 28 2006] Daniel Corby, CEO and founder of multi million £ 118 Group, based in Essex has won an OFCOM license to operate a conventional 118 directory enquiry service to cover the UK.
118 Group, which entered the directory market in 2005 with 118 trades, an internet directory service aimed at promoting reference checked builders and plumbers now has 40,000 members and covers 70% of the UK population.
It now has plans to launch a full 118 directory service and will donate a % of it's 118 service fees to charity.
"We want to be different in everything that we do" added Daniel Corby, CEO and Founder, "when we launched 118 trades in 2005, people said it would not work, we'd never make money and the product would not last. We proved them wrong. It does work. We do make money. And the product has lasted. People will no doubt now say our entry into the crowded 118 directory service will not work. They will say we'll never make money, nobody will call us and it won't last, so I guess we'll just have to prove them wrong again. We have a superb IT infrastructure and our ability to promote the 118 service will be so much easier than other 118 businesses, as we already take national media space every week for 118 trades, so we can piggy back this advertising and promote our own 118 service at the same time
"The UK market leaded is 118 118 and we aim to be a top 10 player in this market by 2007, when the 118 Group plans to float on AIM."
