[UKPRwire, Mon Feb 02 2009] Specialist telecoms services company, Indigo Telecom Group, has opened its new carrier-class European Network Operations Centre (NOC) in Caldicot, South Wales to extend its operational capabilities and prepare for further growth.
Indigo is the new name for HTTR, the company formed by the 2008 acquisition of Chepstow-based Redbridge Management Services by Hutchison Team Telecom.
The merging of the two telecoms services companies has made Indigo a leader in first line maintenance, network management, installation and commissioning services across the UK and Europe. The company has since secured significant new business with network operators and carriers, equipment vendors, utilities and both public- and private-sector organisations, including Huawei, Viatel, euNetworks and a number of UK councils.
The new NOC’s features will enable Indigo to offer customers enhanced remote diagnostic and round-the-clock support services. It will also be the platform for the introduction of new service offerings. The NOC will coordinate the company’s 100+ field support staff in the UK and Europe, and has a permanent staff of 22. The premises also house training facilities for Indigo’s own staff, and for training partners and customers.
According to Mark Orchart, MD of Indigo, the move gives the company an ideal platform for future growth. He said: “Our investment in the new operations centre is a major boost to our pan-European engineering, maintenance and support infrastructure. It will help us to take full advantage of the growing trend towards outsourcing of support services as companies look to cut costs by outsourcing mission-critical engineering tasks.
“It will also further improve service and support levels to new and existing customers, backed by our larger workforce and industry expertise. This will enable us to develop additional services to drive further growth,” he added.
The new Indigo brand reflects the merging of the companies and the broader range of services available to customers, from design and consulting through to network build, management and maintenance. The company’s experience covers all networking sectors including fixed-line telephony, cable TV, fibre, wireline and wireless networks, mobile and radio.
According to leading IT industry analyst, Forrester Research, the market for services of the type provided by Indigo is poised to explode in the next two years, as companies of all sizes look to minimise capital investment and borrowing, while increasing their reliance on IT.
