Node4 are making all the right calls for VW Parkway
VW Parkway has used Derby-based IT Communications Company Node4 to improve the communications between sites.
[UKPRwire, Wed Mar 07 2007] The opportunity rose for Sean Booth, Managing Director of VW Parkway, Derby, to purchase the Leicester franchise of the car dealership, he came across the problem of having two separate sites, each with their own functions such as reception, administration, and service booking which could create problems. After some research Sean realised that most functions could be centralised and run from one site across the whole enterprise. Sean then set about searching for one, single telephone system that would meet all of his requirements, and found Node4.
Node4 specialise in creating bespoke telecommunications systems for businesses with more than one site. It was using Node 4’s Voice over IP (VoIP) service, hostTALK that allowed Mr Booth to gain everything he needed and more from a centralised telephone service. HostTALK uses state of the art Cisco Call Manager technology to enable businesses to use the latest IP technology such as Voice Mail, and Desktop Integration.
Sean Booth said of the new system proposal; “Once presented with what Node4 could offer, it was simply no contest. The quote was about the same as I was previously paying but all the hardware was new and we got a lot more besides – a new data network and wireless network.”
This Derby partnership has benefited both parties; Node4 have expanded their customer base in the motor trade, and VW Parkway has gained a huge amount of assistance in the day to day running of the business using the new solution.
VW Parkway has managed to save an estimated £7,000 a month on running costs, with this new system, which has also considerably improved productivity for the two sites and saved further costs with the new centralised reception and booking services. HostTALK allows all calls between locations to be classed as ‘internal’, making them free, which will cut costs dramatically. Outside calls will be charged at a reduced overall rate as users no longer need to rent any telephone lines. Also, by using compression software, Node4 has enabled VW Parkway to have 30 lines open at any one time, rather than the eight that the size of the connection would normally allow. This allows the amount of customers that can reach the receptionists to improve dramatically, and that fewer customer calls are missed at busy peak times.
“A phone enquiry is often a much hotter lead than someone who walks onto the site, so the telephone system we use is vitally important to the success of the business” says Mr Booth.
Node4’s HostTALK system will last at VW Parkway for the foreseen future, with the solution being adapted to all requirements that may crop up in the future, creating a long-term partnership between the two Derby-based companies.
Sean Booth recommends a Node4 partnership; “What we can do with the solution Node4 has implemented is limited only by our imagination. We have been very impressed with Node4’s know-how and the support services it has been able to provide. I’d recommend anyone to go and look at Node4’s technology as VoIP has made us significant savings and has opened up all sorts of possibilities for the business.”
