PAGEONE SHORT LISTED FOR 3GSM AWARDS

Pregnant Teenagers Scheme Highlighted in ‘Best Mobile Community Service or Initiative’ category

[UKPRwire, Thu Jan 19 2006] PageOne, the UK’s foremost supplier of wireless messaging technology and services, today announces that it has been short listed in the 2006 GSM Association Awards for its work with Birmingham’s Heartland and Solihull NHS Trust in Teenage Pregnancy Antenatal care.

Already the recipient of the 'All Parliamentary Group on Maternity award for 'innovative practices', the scheme uses PageOne’s Connect service (PageOne’s Connect service is a desktop, web-based mobile messaging system capable of connecting with all paging, mobile and e-mail networks). This service has enabled pregnant teenagers to receive antenatal clinic reminders and health tips via their mobile phones, and allows midwives to stay in touch with the teenagers in between clinical visits. Important advice on diet, smoking, alcohol and other issues affecting pregnancy is also provided through the scheme. The system reinforces to the teenagers that there are people who are interested in their well-being and who want to make the experience of pregnancy as easy and comfortable as possible for them.

Established in 1995, the GSM Association Awards is the leading international awards programme honouring excellence throughout the global GSM mobile industry. The winners will be announced at a VIP Gala Dinner in Barcelona's famous National Palace (Palau Nacional) on Tuesday, February 14th 2006.

Rob Conway, CEO of the GSM Association said, "The 2006 GSM Association Awards have been specifically designed to showcase the diversity of products and services and the quality, ingenuity and level of innovation that combine to fuel the mobile value chain. Entries this year have again exceeded our highest expectations, reflecting the vibrancy of the mobile industry on a global basis. My congratulations on PageOne’s successful nomination for the 2006 Awards."

Chris Jones, Managing Director of PageOne said. “We are delighted to have been short listed for this prestigious award from the GSM Association. It is a great testament to all the staff at PageOne, who have worked so hard to ensure PageOne is always finding innovative uses for the latest mobile technology that benefits both our clients and the wider communities we live and work in.”
