Team Simoco’s Xfin Selected for National Search and Rescue Radio Communications Network

ICS Electronics opts for Xfin technology to deliver cost-effective, easily managed national shore-based radio over IP network

[UKPRwire, Sat Oct 31 2009] Xfin technology from radio communications specialist Team Simoco has been selected for use in a national maritime radio communications network.

ICS Electronics, which specialises in the provision of shore-based marine communications solutions, has ordered over 100 Xfin units from Team Simoco for use in a national radio communications network, which will ensure reliable maritime communications.

Team Simoco has worked closely with ICS Electronics to jointly develop this system solution for use in the marine environment. Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) has been integrated into the Xfin technology to support the specific operating and communications requirements of a coastal radio network. The Xfin IP Base Station was designed to work with the new ICS V4 Radio Over IP (RoIP) Marine Communications System which includes RoIP gateways, RoIP Audio Switch and Radio Operator Consoles.

The customised Xfin radio over IP network has been specifically enhanced for use within the marine environment and will enable maritime operators such as Coastguards, Military, Port & Harbours and Homeland security to communicate effectively and ensure a coordinated response.
