VoSKY Signs Exclusive Distribution Agreement with Rocom for New Range of PBX-to-Skype Gateways

Leading PBX and telecoms distributor signed up to boost market penetration in business sector

[UKPRwire, Fri Jun 08 2007] VoSKY Technologies has announced that it has signed an exclusive UK distributor agreement with leading PBX and telecoms distributor Rocom for its new range of PBX-to-Skype gateways.

The exclusive agreement will see Rocom distribute VoSKY’s Exchange range of desk and rack-mountable PBX-to-Skype gateways that enable business users to make, receive and transfer Internet-based Skype calls over standard office phones. The move will boost VoSKY’s presence in the UK business telecoms market.

The VoSKY Exchange is the only PBX-to-Skype hardware range to gain full Skype certification, and will enhance most PBXs and phone systems out of the box.

Ian Robin, European general manager for VoSKY Technologies said: “The exclusive agreement with Rocom is a key strategic alliance for us, and will help us to achieve greater market penetration. Rocom has impressive credentials in the telecoms sector, with the expertise to ensure resellers get the right solutions to best meet their specific business requirements.”

Phil Hambly, Sales and Marketing Director of Rocom said: “We’ve noticed increasing demand for Skype-enablers in the business community. VoSKY Exchange is the only Skype-certified solution of its kind, offering additional lines without the need for changes to the PBX or telephone infrastructure.

The VoSKY Exchange range adds up to eight Skype lines to any office PBX without requiring changes to the existing office phone infrastructure. Multiple Exchange boxes can be set up in different company offices anywhere in the world for free calling between sites.

A VoSKY Exchange can be installed in as little as two hours and has a low one-time cost that typically pays for itself within a few months through Skype savings on long-distance and international phone calls or the new customers gained by enabling Skype calling into the PBX.

Businesses can take advantage of the 200 Million-strong Skype user base to attract “Free” sales, support or customer service calls directly into their phone system, or use SkypeOut rates alongside their existing carrier to dramatically reduce domestic or international call costs.

The Exchanges offer either trunk-side (FXO) connectivity to the PBX, or extension-side (FXS) connectivity.  The latter adds the ability to transfer Skype calls between offices by extension without dialing the full office number.
