2009 - The Year of The Caravan!

The Caravan Channel, TV's only permanently produced camping, caravanning and motorhome programme, says that 2009 will be the "Year of the Camper, Caravanner, and Motorhome Owner".

[UKPRwire, Mon Dec 01 2008] The Caravan Channel, TV's only permanently produced camping, caravanning and motorhome programme, is looking forward to 2009 as the "Year of the Camper, Caravanner, and Motorhome Owner".

In these financially tight times, families, couples and groups are looking for holiday opportunities that won't strain their budgets, but will still give them a great break. And that's what The Caravan Channel is all about.

"Campers, caravan owners and motorhome fans are the only people who can rely on having great holidays at really keen prices," said producer and presenter Chris Gosling. "Lot of families already find that 2 weeks in some resort isn't the holiday of their dreams - and hotels can often be disappointing for parents, and a virtual prison for the kids."

Many families reckon to spend half the cost of a 2 week flight/hotel holiday on a camping or caravanning holiday, even when going abroad. A family of 4, booking on a South of France website during mid-August, can pay less than 650 for 14 nights, including everything from travel on the shuttle or a ferry to the maps and guidebook! Even with fuel at high prices, it's still going to be a brilliant holiday for less than 1,000, while their friends in hotels will be spending twice as much!

And there's the green cost to consider, too! Even towing a caravan, a 2 litre diesel car with 4 passengers produces less than half of the carbon that holiday flights to the Costas would emit - so caravanning makes sense that way, too.

Over the coming winter weeks, the Caravan Channel TV show will be showing regular examples of just how great a holiday people can get with tents, caravans and motorhomes - pricing holidays, showing sites, and looking at new and used caravans and motorhomes on the market today!

The caravan Channel is broadcast at 7pm on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday on Information TV, Sky channel 166. There's a new programme every two weeks throughout the year, so it's always up to date, and alway first with the facts!
