French Connections Launches Guide to Top City Breaks in France

French Connections, a comprehensive website offering holiday rentals, accommodation and properties for sale across France, has published a new easy to use guide of the Top City Breaks in France.

[UKPRwire, Mon Sep 22 2008] The guide was created with the intention of helping people considering a holiday or even a permanent move to France to see the attributes of the most popular cities at a glance.

France is traditionally famous for its gourmet food, its beloved wines and its status as the most romantic country in Europe. However it is also a hive of sporting activity, a beacon of architectural beauty, a fantastic country to soak up culture and boasts incredible shopping opportunities. French Connections’ new guide covers both the traditional aspects of France and those that might not immediately spring to mind when choosing somewhere to stay for a citybreak or short holiday.

The assortment of cities included in the guide ranges from the bigger, better known cities such as Paris and Bordeaux to more undiscovered cities like Annency or Cahors. Each city has a page dedicated to it which offers a complete breakdown of everything a traveller needs to know.

The overview of each page features a map of France with the city in question clearly marked, a ‘mini guide’ which includes details on local public transport, tourist information and links to suitable accommodation, along with a short description of the city itself. It also offers a list of related searches which helps to give an overall impression of specifically why each city is most popular. As well as links to suitable accommodation it suggests three properties with helpful pictures, so that anyone with an interest can really get a sense of the place.

A tab feature allows visitors to discover local places of interest, read advice from other travellers and submit their own tips and photographs. Other links include holiday resources such as airport links and car hire, ferries to France and cheap travel insurance, as well as recommending reading materials that will help to offer an even more in-depth analysis of the city in question.

One of the founders of French Connections, Glyis Shaw, commented on the launch of the city guides; ‘we’ve known for some time that many of our visitors were looking for ideas and information on city breaks in France, but with so many potential locations it can be hard to choose. That’s partly why we created these new guides, along with the fact that we think many people will be looking to take shorter breaks closer to home in the near future”.

The categories that the guide comprises of include architecture, culture, history, romance, gourmet, shopping, sporting and undiscovered city breaks.
