This isn't how it's supposed to be, you work, pay off your mortgage and then retire with a sufficient, albeit modest income, to enjoy the later stages of your SAGA inspired life. However the group, often referred to as 'the baby boomer generation', are discovering that hardship is on the horizon and not back to back cruises around the Med.
The image most struggling FTBs have is that most, if not nearly all over 50's, have bought their own property. In fact the presumption would be that most, having bought in their 20's (late 70's early 80's), would be close to paying off their mortgage. Not according to this latest data released by the A&L.
