For eight consecutive years, Primark has been the clothing leader in terms of price, with its price architecture continuing to appeal to cost-conscious shoppers. However, its CSI score for price has fallen each year since 2011 and its overall score has dropped by 16 points in 2013, ranking it in 14th place.
H&M's score for product quality has improved on 2012 and is now above the market average, which is very positive given its value positioning. It should look to improve this score further in order to gain a bigger competitive advantage on its value rivals New Look, Primark and the grocers.
